Old road maps collection, 1820-1890.

Maps of former villages in Queens and old toll roads using street names that are no longer current. These maps are equivalent to Acquisition and Damage Maps before 1890 and gave title to roads shown by various former villages. Old road maps were collected by the Topographical Bureau ca.1902 for use in chain-of-title searches. Maps serve to determine city ownership and are used in preparation of new Acquisition and Damage Maps to advance capital projects.
